Supporting your people, meeting your duties and using the right tools to do both
As a consultancy, we’re proud to support organisations in building strong, transparent workplace cultures where people feel safe to speak up and confident they’ll be taken seriously.
Whether it’s whistleblowing, harassment, or internal misconduct, the legal and ethical responsibilities placed on employers are significant and growing.
Why It Matters Now
Across the UK, there is increasing emphasis on employer accountability through legislation that protects employees who raise concerns. This includes:
- Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA) – Protects whistleblowers from retaliation when raising concerns in the public interest (e.g. fraud, safety breaches, or malpractice).
- The Equality Act 2010 – Places responsibility on employers to prevent and address workplace discrimination and sexual harassment.
- Whistleblowing (Public Interest Disclosure) Amendment Bill 2025 (proposed) – Aims to strengthen protections further, improve response transparency, and require clearer, more accessible reporting mechanisms.
Having the right processes in place isn’t optional, but having the right tools can make all the difference.
How iTrust Helps
As part of our work with clients, we support the use of the iTrust app (BYGYO) a secure, intuitive platform that enables employees to report concerns anonymously (or named), and include supporting materials such as photos, screenshots, or voice notes.
While internal speak-up routes and policies remain important, iTrust adds an extra layer of protection, clarity, and accessibility particularly for employees who may feel unsure about raising issues directly with management or HR.
iTrust helps organisations to:
- Meet evolving legal and regulatory standards
- Demonstrate a proactive commitment to employee wellbeing and psychological safety
- Strengthen internal transparency and accountability
- Support broader CSR and governance goals
We believe that encouraging employees to speak up shouldn’t be complicated or intimidating. With the right systems and support in place, it becomes a natural part of a healthier, safer workplace for everyone.
